Any free time I have I either spend it on good series or a great book with some hot coffee on the side. With this book club I now have great company to do such things.
How is the BOTM picked?
There are two ways of picking the BOTM. We either have a thematic month, when we -the organizers- choose a book, or an open voting in which the members offer book suggestions and then everyone votes.
What is a "thematic month"?
Since we love having a vast selection of books and learning about various eras and cultures, we have introduced the thematics month (every second month of each season). Examples of thematic months that we have discussed so far are "Black History month", "Modern retellings of classic novels", "Women in Literature"
How often do you meet?
Typically, once per month or every 45 days if we have chosen a lengthy novel. Our reading season begins in October and ends in June.
Where do you meet?
Some place downtown Athens for most of the times!
In which language are the meetings held?
As many members of this book club are from foreign countries, we hold the discussion in English.
